Fireplace hearth; hallway, first floor

For a more comfortable life in the burg, heating, toilets and light are important. The rooms were dimly lit, and lanterns, torches, oil lamps and candles made of tallow or wax were used for lighting. They used the fireplace and later a stove for heating and they were lit only in the room where they stayed all day. In the Trakošćan Castle, interesting stoves have been preserved that are still in operation. Most of them were lit from the next room so that the servants did not disturb the owners, that there was no smoke or noise.
