The Drašković family coat of arms; first courtyard, northern avant-corps
Terracotta, baked, 100 x 130 cm, 18th century
The coat of arms of the Drašković family is embedded in the wall above the entrance to the second outer courtyard.
The Baroque escutcheon is quartered. In the first and fourth square, on the trimount and crown, there is a crowned griffin with a sphere in its talon. In the second and third square, there is an eagle with its wings outstretched and a crown on its head. Above the escutcheon, there is the Count’s crown. Below the escutcheon, there is a vegetal stylised decoration above which there are two griffins with spread wings as guardians of the coat of arms. Such coats of arms can be found on the castles that used to belong to the Drašković family in Klenovnik and Veliki Bukovac.
