2. The Drašković-Malatinski coat of arms; the front of the gatehouse

Sandstone, carved, 120 x 90 cm, 1747

The coat of arms of Josip Kazimir Drašković and his wife Suzana Malatinski is located above the drawbridge on the gatehouse. In the Baroque cartouche there are two escutcheons with the coat of arms of Josip Kazimir Drašković and Suzana Malatinski. Under the escutcheons, there are two war drums, two cannon barrels and three flags on each side. Two escutcheons are joined in the upper part: the first is quartered, in the first and fourth square a crowned griffin holds a sphere in its talon, and in the second and third fields, there is an eagle with its wings outstretched. In the second escutcheon, there is a bundle of grain with a rooster on top that holds a ring in its beak. Above the coat of arms, there is a tournament helmet, and above it, there is a crown. The numbers 1747 are engraved on four sides, which testifies to the time of the construction activity by the spouses Suzana and Kazimir.
