Inscription plaque; second courtyard, northern avant-corps

White limestone, carved, 40 x 80 cm, 1855

A simple stone plaque from 1855, without decoration, includes a longer Latin text in carved uppercase capital letters. The plaque is embedded in the wall above the passage from the northern avant-corps to the second courtyard. The plaque mentions Juraj Drašković and his wife Sofia, née Latour. The inscription is about the restoration of the castle in 1855. The year on the plaque is shown with a chronogram. In the text, individual Latin letters that indicate numbers have been highlighted (they are larger than the others), and their sum gives the year 1855.
